Types of FSSAI license registration

FSSAI Basic Registration

The FSSAI basic registration is for FBOs who have registered under small-scale industries and startups and have an annual income of less than Rs 12 lakh. Basic registration under FSSAI can be upgraded as per the productivity graph of the FBO.

FSSAI State License

The FSSAI state license is for FBOs who have registered under medium-scale industries and have an annual income of less than Rs 20 crore. The state license can be also implemented as a central license which is dependent upon the performance graph of the productivity..

FSSAI Central License

The FSSAI Central license is for FBOs which has a large business and the annual income of the industry is more than Rs 20 crore.

Eligibility criteria for FOSCOS FSSAI registration

For FSSAI registration, eligibility depends on the scale and turnover of the Food Business Operator (FBO). Basic registration applies to small industries with an annual turnover below ₹12 lakh. The FSSAI state license is required for medium-scale industries with a turnover up to ₹20 crore. For large-scale industries with a turnover exceeding ₹20 crore, the FSSAI central license is mandatory.

Required documents for FOSCOS FSSAI License/registration

Proclamation Form

A declaration form must be submitted under the name of the company owner.

Authority letter

An authority letter is required to authorize the registration process.

Property Paper

If the property is owned, a copy of the government-issued property papers must be provided.

Rent Agreement Paper

For rented properties, a copy of the rent agreement should be submitted

Food Safety Certificate
 A food safety management system plan or certificate is mandatory

Electricity Bill/Water Bill

A recent utility bill (electricity or water) of the business premises must be included

Photo ID Proof

Applicants must provide a valid photo ID (such as an Aadhar card or voter ID) for verification
